I hear Santa Barbara has some cool places to check out! Let me know when you get here...
ReplyDeleteParis
I'd love to get out there again. Santa Barbara (and Ventura and SLO and piano Beach and that entire area) is so beautiful! What do you know about the Stagecoach Inn? thanks for listening! Love ya! -Den
ReplyDelete"piano Beach" Where inna hell is that? Near Liberace's house? I meant PISMO Beach. Jeez, Den, put down the hi-ball. Love ya, Paris!
ReplyDeleteDen....great stuff as usual. Making my annual trip with the boys on the MLK weekend in January. We have done it every year for the past 16 years. This year we are staying at the Bellagio. We use to have dinner at this Italian restaurant on Sahara called The Venetian. They had a dish simply called "The bones". It was beef neck bones, cooked like ox tails. We would get salads and a side, usually some kind of potato dish, and many many cocktails. Great place, one of the old style restaurants with the leather high back booths. Now we have our first dinner on the Friday night at the Capital Grille, and great steakhouse. Of course, I get a wedge salad and the rib eye....all I need. Thanks for the tip. Gotta love Vegas!
ReplyDeleteThe Venetian sounds great, Jon! Battista's is worth a trip...for cocktails and to check out the mini bottle collection. It reminds me of the old Gold Spike on Columbus. Food- only okay. Atmosphere- really fun! I'll check the Venitian next time I'm in Vegas.
ReplyDeleteYou go with all OLM buds? Riordan High buds?
am i retarded? i can't find this episode on the iTunes feed...
ReplyDeleteHmmm...you're right, Tio. I'll now spend hours trying to get iTunes to tell me what screwed up. Thanks for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteOK didn't mean to cause you any extra work there. Sorry, dude.
ReplyDeleteJust listened to this episode of the AA Hour, oh man... I gots me a vegas-boner now! I have been on vegas-hiatus for over a year-- using Reno to fulfill my Nevada-urges-- but will be going back this January.
With the wife. without the boys. so i don't think i'll get to go to Sapphire this time.
Question about Battista's: how does it compare (costwise and qualitywise) to Joe's of Westlake?
TJ- I love Joe's of Westlake.. Battistas has higher prices and the food isn't as good. Go for a drink.
ReplyDeleteThat said, my boy, Jon, posted about a place he hits in Vegas- The Venitian on Sahara- that sounds great (see above) "The Bones"? Gotta try that someday!
